Spathiphyllum wallisii
The plants species that keep themselves and all others alive as itβs the only βtalkingβ plant.
Instead of croaking (to wet/to dry) like most other plants, this plant has the decency to show it is thirsty because it will be hanging miserably in its pot when it is.
So, youβll know, and can water the plant, next day it will be happy, all straight up.
Just water all your plants when your Spathiphyllum asks for water.
Hello
Actually; your Money plant looked very good when you shoved it back into the shelf… π
Id love to see this as one of those pdf handbooks you offer my man!
Impossible? Not for me! lol
all plants are destructible! — I’ve killed a cactus… now where I live of course I really dont have light enough in my house to grow anything… even tried low light ones, thinking what we have would still work NOPE! — so unless I have lights and grow lights everywhere, and have some sort of a warning thing to tell me to water, or to stop watering I kill everything lmao
I purchase a dracaena marginata – 2 months later, it died βΉ
Your Butterwort / Pinguicula looks OK to me. I’m assuming it’s one of the Mexican species or hybrids. They have a winter phase where they produce very small and more succulent leaves which I think your plant is doing. Let it dry out more at this time and when it starts producing larger leaves again in the spring you can keep it wet. Also, don’t be shocked at the rather minimal shallow roots on them – this is normal.
Pothos is definitely one plant that can tolerate practically any environment and abuse. As an owner of many (can’t tell you how many) that originated from an old "Mama" Pothos of over 20 years, I know what I’m talking about! π€£
The ones I’ve kept on my back patio outside have survived both harsh cold or summer weather as long as they’re covered well (even with recent Winter Enzo, I’m certain they’ll come back). I stopped transporting them indoors on cold nights due to how much of a nightmare that was, especially when I have to untangle them from each other first. I have to make sure they don’t attempt climbing up the wall of my house and ruin the paint with their roots. Also, they’ve become a great home for the lizards.
Another thing about Pothos that I found astonishing is stems without leaves will still live on, as I have one that lost all its leaves long ago and refuses to make new ones, yet it remains quite alive because its roots are healthy.
All calatheas ive had died. They look nice but i have never bought them again.
I love the golden pothos, it’s so easy to keep them thick, lush and happy. I do hate to see them in long scraggly vines without leaves though – it must take an enormous amount of neglect to get them to that point.

Richard, I always love hearing you talk about Chinese money plants.. ππ
1:16 "the worlds favourite plant also happens to be a ????doddle????" WHAT???? replayed this like 20 times and cant figure out what word hes saying there
I find your plants so happy, bright and plump!Congratulations!
I wanted to propagate a jade plant. They rotted. I am ashamed π
The Pepperomia obtusifloia is really cute.
I’ve killed darn near EVERY one of those plants you’ve shown (more than once)
I kilt that. The jade plant
I had a Dracaena Margiata but my cat would not stop snacking on it. I decided to give it away. It’s not safe for cats.
Other than that my boy is pretty good at leaving my plants alone, so I assumed there’s something in the Dracaena that made it irresistible to him.
Pothos ivy, zz plant, dracena. For something that blooms, kalanchoe. I dont have much of a green thumb but these are thriving with me.
Can someone please tell me what that plant on the left at 9:12 is? Thanks!
Where do you buy a gollum jade? ty
As long as you’re prone to overwatering, I can confirm nepenthes are impossible to kill. If you want massive vibrant pitchers, you’ll want to stick them outside, but mine are still surviving even after I’ve brought them in for the winter (they don’t like it when it’s less than 60F, which generally isn’t an issue indoors, but they won’t die immediately).
I love hearing your voice!
I killed a Jade plant ππ
Not to brag, but I’ve killed almost every plant on this list, mostly due to my own neglect. Time to get a nepenthes to ignore!
Kilt that.. the peperomia
I actually love the silly stick with the leaves on top (Chinese money tree) It is one of my favorite plants π And it does not need too much light too:)
I never thought of having a Coleus as an indoor plant.. but why not! Ah.. I see you say they need sun? I find (at least outdoors) they will grow even in poor light.. we put some in a corner of the garden which gets no sunlight at all and they thrived and bloomed.. π
Same super experience with Nepenthes Gaya, growing like crazy…
Is that a challenge?
I donβt have fungus gnats Iβd be afraid the nepenthes would starve in my house.
I managed to kill a monstera, restart it and kill it again. And my ficus elastica died when I moved to a different house. So those are not impossible to kill
Can you please advice which brand of potting mix we should use for house plants, I am new in gardening and I used jonn inns multipurpose peat free compost to repot my plants and I got fungus gnats now as there were fungus gnats in the compost bag which I didn’t know.
I’ve noticed that when I leave my succulents alone, they seem to strive, n when I fuss over them, they don’t do as well. I think I’m an over waterer
Was wondering if you could do a podcast on cat-friendly houseplants? I have had cats all my life and never had a problem until now. The cat I have now eats the leaves of plants so much that I cannot have plants.
a few common types of kalanchoe
they just impossible to kill, and multiply like crazy
I have a big beautiful golum jade at my parents house- i wanted to take it with me when I moved out but i know it would be so unhappy going from southern california to washington π
I saw the thumbnail and feel the most shame I ever felt in my life
I had 2 ogre ears and lost them both, so help plan to try one more time
20 βimpossible to killβ plants AHAHAHAH sorry Iβve βkilledβ 7 of them in Spain
I killed the gollum in your thumbnail 3 times before I got it right.
Iβm also a sucker for a jade. I had to keep trying.
haha. watching the vid reminds me of the fact i should get rid of my melanochrysum. i think its the most bothersome plant i have. end of last year i spotted some spidermites on it, treated it, now its clean again but… it looks like shit ALL THE TIME. it would look awesome when it for once had a single leaf thats nice but it never has. every single freaking leaf gets ripped apart because it tries t grow through its own leaf for some reason and sometimes i even need to cut the leafs open for the plant so its not damaging itself more. its ridiculous.
For easy carnivorous plants look at temperate sundews. Keep them wet through spring/summer and damp through autumn/winter then they’re inactive. You don’t even need to propagate them manually, plantlets spring up from the roots all the time. My D. Madagascariensis and D. Adele started off as single plants when I got them in April and now I’ve got over twenty combined from natural division, leaf and stem cuttings. I even found fresh leaves from the Adelae sticking out of the bottom of the pot in to the Jam jar I sit it in for a reservoir.
For Pings I’ve found the humble, native Vulgaris (Common Butterwort) to be pretty indestructible as well. I started with one plant and by the end of the season when it was going dormant I found I had 5 divisions, one of which fell apart but with the leaves I pulled from it I’ve got about 10 plantlets sitting in spag moss at the moment. Pings like to be damp all year round so I sit the pot in a jam jar again but don’t let the water level reach the bottom of the pot, I just use a wicking cord to make sure the water keeps slowly moving to the pot.
I have ficus benjamin in dark window in kitchen, have not changed pot for 8? years, just water once week thats it. but looks good.
I have killed both a monstera and three snake plants…
lol. I had the Chinese money plant. It did exactly as you said.
I’ve accomplished the impossible so many time! π
You are a good waterer. Most people water lightly but frequently, following the once a week policy. But plants do much better with less frequent but heavier watering. 80% of plants can go 2 weeks between watering if they are in good soil. Which is another thing, many plants are coming in soil substitutes (which decompose quickly) as growing countries are running out of soil. Always add new potting mix to new plants, and top them up 2 or 3 times a year.
