  2. 10:00 Such a beautiful way to embrace self-sufficiency! It’s incredible how every bit of land can be utilized so efficiently. Definitely taking notes for my own garden.

Colors are great for a garden mainly for the reason you said which was ease of picking. My next requirement would be flavor. If the bean is fluorescent orange but tastes like water there isn’t any reason to grow it. lol. Great video though. I love seeing how others lay out their garden.

  13. So nice to have a partner that does this with you.

  14. After covid I hate peppers and onions but I still grow and pack peppers.

  15. this video really helpful for me. so thank you. and I hope you will continue create more agriculture related video.

    Where are you located??

  17. @angelasheppard7197 March 13, 2025 at 12:11 pm

Since tomatoes don’t like to be rained on, do you treat for fungus right after it rains?

  18. The worms in the raspberries come from a invasive fruit fly called spotted wing drosophila (SWD). They lay their eggs/larva in unripened fruit. Hate them with a passion and yes they enjoy the cooler shaded parts of the plant. The most effective ways to battle or treat SWD is to make traps with sealed cups and apple vinegar, a lot of good youtube videos that show how to make them. The other way is to keep up with harvest and dispose of bad fruit away from your patch. Great video and good luck!

  24. LOL. I had to say away from my seed sprouting mix. Yesterday I planted more that 250 pepper seeds among other things. I know I will be sorry when I have to pick and procces the veggies and fruit. The worst part is going to be where to store it. All I can say is my withdrawals from little green things is bad

  36. @shirleyschermer4649 March 13, 2025 at 12:37 pm

Inspectors call that black heart, when the potato has black center.

  37. That’s definitely more than an 1/8 of an acre.

  38. I’d love some advice on seed brands you prefer, please! 😊

  39. Hi there, I love ketchup. However, after COVID, I cannot taste ketchup at all. My brain knew it was ketchup, but it did not have flavor. Also, I cannot taste hot dogs and some cheeses. Also, I cook to taste. So, my salt sensors are overacting, and what tastes salty to me tastes completely bland to others. So, I have to tell people to adjust the salt amount as needed. COVID truly messed up my taste palate.

  40. You you both work.

  41. Teaching your babies is such a blessing I wish I would have paid attention to my Great Grandfather when he use to garden…

  42. With your cucumbers maybe try floating row covers for the first couple of weeks until the first blooms appear. When I was in Delaware I could direct seed them under row covers (you can use transplants too) and then go with a copper fungicide after the covers came off. If you have super heavy insect pressure you can actually pollinate the females (the flowers with the little mini cucumber at the base) by picking a male flower and…well, you know. Just reapply the row cover afterwards and they should stay safe.

  43. @ashleymcdaniel6188 March 13, 2025 at 12:44 pm

Just found you … my husband had the same issues with peppers after covid

  44. @americanhottopics7373 March 13, 2025 at 12:45 pm

I don’t use sprays either. For the white worms in Raspberries soak them in a mild salt water brine for at least 5 minutes. Cover with at least an inch of brine, giving a good agitation 2-3 times to get the water completely through the berry. The worms will come out and float on top so you can pour them off. Then give a good cool rinse and maybe a quick soak if you want.

  45. Loved watching your video.. I want to buy some land to start growing my own vegetables…

  46. Thank you, Michelle!

  47. I also had covid 5 years ago and peppers don’t taste good but cucumbers and watermelon taste horrible now, and I love a good watermelon!! Very disappointing. I enjoyed your video.

  48. 1st step – buy property to plant the garden.

  49. @jamilaaqeela2659 March 13, 2025 at 12:50 pm

I saw a trick with stacking carrot in. Layers. Of sand without allowing them to touch. Dig up don’t clean. Lay in sand layer full no touching together. Repeat and finally cover. They last a long time.
